Dynamics 365 Customer Service Professional vs Enterprise vs Contact Center: Pricing and Licensing 2026
Dynamics 365 Customer Service Professional is $50.00 per user per month, Enterprise is $105.00 and Premium is $195.00; the standalone Dynamics 365 Contact Center is $110.00, or $95.00 for the Digital or Voice channel family alone, with $90.00 and $75.00 add-on versions for users who already hold Customer Service Enterprise (Microsoft list price, October 2026 price list). Here is what separates the tiers, where the attach, device and unified routing licenses fit, and three worked cases: a 5-agent helpdesk, a 25-agent support team and a 60-seat contact center.

Microsoft list price, October 2026 price list. Every row is a New Commerce Experience subscription: the annual-commitment price can be billed monthly or yearly, and the no-commitment price buys the right to cancel at any month end. Professional vs Enterprise: the caps that decide it
Professional is the case-and-knowledge app for a team with simple needs, and Microsoft enforces the simplicity in the license terms rather than in the product. From the Dynamics 365 Licensing Guide, a Customer Service Professional user may create and modify up to 15 custom tables per application, and the Professional use rights carry maximums of 5 business process flows, 5 reports or dashboards and 15 queues; Enterprise has no limit on custom tables. Microsoft's restricted tables reference puts the SLA table within reach of Professional or Enterprise, but routing rule sets and entitlements under Enterprise. Unified routing, the skill-and-capacity routing engine that spans channels, comes with Enterprise, which the licensing guide pairs with 50 record routes per user per month. Copilot Credits for the agents on Microsoft's pricing page (Customer Intent, Case Management and the others) are sold separately for Professional and Enterprise, while Premium includes a base allocation.
One rule outranks the feature list. Microsoft's Customer Service documentation states that, per the contractual agreement, you cannot mix Enterprise and Professional users on the same instance (Microsoft Learn, page dated 8 May 2026), and the licensing guide says that if you buy both for the same product they must be installed in separate environments. A support team cannot put three power users on Enterprise and twelve on Professional in one environment. Either everyone is Professional, or everyone who works in that environment is Enterprise (or attaches to it).
Decision rule: Professional when the team works cases and knowledge articles with email and a portal, needs fewer than 15 custom tables and no routing beyond basic queues. Enterprise when any of these appear: unified routing, entitlements, the Copilot agent experiences across channels, more than 15 custom tables, or a plan to add a contact center channel.
Premium: Enterprise plus Contact Center, and the arithmetic
Microsoft's reference architecture describes Customer Service Premium as the plan for the broadest contact center scenarios: the CRM case app plus Microsoft's own telephony and IVR, digital channels, Copilot Studio self-service agents, unified routing and supervisor tools in one license. The licensing guide states that Premium includes Customer Service Enterprise and Contact Center (Digital and Voice), and the price list agrees with the arithmetic: Enterprise at $105.00 plus the Contact Center add-on for Customer Service Enterprise at $90.00 is $195.00, the Premium price. Buying Premium or buying Enterprise plus the add-on costs the same per user; Premium is one SKU to manage and, per the March 2026 licensing guide, carries 1,000 Copilot Credits per user per month, whereas Enterprise users buy credits separately. One difference runs the other way: the guide lists Customer Voice as included with Customer Service Enterprise but not with Premium.
What Premium still does not include: telephony minutes and phone numbers, which run on Azure Communication Services and are priced separately; digital messaging capacity beyond the included allocation, purchased through Copilot Studio; and Dataverse storage beyond the tenant's pooled entitlement (Dataverse capacity and pricing).
Contact Center standalone: for agents on another CRM
Dynamics 365 Contact Center is the contact-center-as-a-service product without the case app. Microsoft's pricing page describes it as working with existing CRMs, with prebuilt integrations for Salesforce, Dynamics 365 and others. At $110.00 per user per month it carries both the digital channels (live and persistent chat on messaging and social channels, real-time translation, conversation summarization) and the voice channel (inbound routing, voicemail, recording and transcription, outbound dialing), plus Copilot Studio self-service and IVR. Contact Center Digital and Contact Center Voice are $95.00 each for one channel family.
The same page's footnote reads: discount pricing available when purchased with Dynamics 365 Customer Service Enterprise licenses. Those are the add-on rows: $90.00 for the full Contact Center, $75.00 for Digital, $75.00 for Voice, each on a user's Enterprise license. So the choice is a function of where the agent's desktop lives: agents in Dynamics 365 Customer Service buy Enterprise plus an add-on (or Premium); agents in another CRM buy Contact Center standalone. A Teams-based alternative for small voice teams is compared in Teams Phone calling plan vs Operator Connect vs Direct Routing.
Attach, device and unified routing add-on licenses
Attach ($20.00). A user whose first Dynamics 365 app is already a base license, a Sales Enterprise seller for instance, adds Customer Service Enterprise or Professional as an attach for $20.00 instead of $105.00 or $50.00. The licensing guide defines which licenses qualify as a base; Team Members does not, and the Professional and Enterprise families attach to their own kind. The rules are laid out in the Dynamics 365 pricing guide, and the Sales side of the same ladder in Sales Professional vs Enterprise vs Premium.
Device ($160.00). Customer Service Enterprise Device licenses a shared machine rather than a person: a walk-up service counter or a shift desk used by three people in turn pays $160.00 instead of three Enterprise seats at $315.00. One person alone on a device license pays $55.00 more than a user license would.
Unified routing add-on ($800.00 per tenant per month). Enterprise includes 50 record routes per user per month, pooled across the tenant's Enterprise users. The add-on buys 10,000 record routes per tenant per month for teams that route records (cases, custom tables) at a volume the included pool cannot cover. Conversation routing for Contact Center channels is covered by the Contact Center licenses.
Three worked cases at list prices
Case 1: a 5-agent helpdesk. Five agents handle cases by email and a web portal, with a knowledge base and no phone channel. Customer Service Professional, 5 × $50.00 = $250.00 per month, $3,000 per year. The caps (15 custom tables, 15 queues, 5 business process flows) are not reached. If the office manager who oversees the queue already holds Sales Enterprise for the pipeline, her seat is a $20.00 attach rather than a $50.00 base.
Case 2: a 25-agent support team. Twenty-five agents, unified routing by skill, entitlements per contract, Copilot summaries, two shared PCs at a walk-up counter, and three sellers on Sales Enterprise who also work cases.
| Line | Quantity | Unit | Monthly | Yearly |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Customer Service Enterprise | 25 | $105.00 | $2,625.00 | $31,500 |
| Customer Service Enterprise Device | 2 | $160.00 | $320.00 | $3,840 |
| Customer Service Enterprise Attach (sellers) | 3 | $20.00 | $60.00 | $720 |
| Total | $3,005.00 | $36,060 |
The included routing pool is 25 × 50 = 1,250 record routes per month. If the team routes 4,000 cases a month, the unified routing add-on at $800.00 takes the total to $3,805.00 per month, $45,660 per year, which is the point at which it is worth checking whether every case needs the routing engine or only the ones that arrive through the web form.
Case 3: a 60-seat contact center. Sixty agents on voice and chat with Copilot Studio self-service.
| Option | Unit | Monthly | Yearly | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Customer Service Premium | $195.00 | $11,700.00 | $140,400 | Case app plus both channel families; 1,000 Copilot Credits per user per month |
| Enterprise plus Contact Center add-on | $105.00 + $90.00 | $11,700.00 | $140,400 | Same price, two SKUs, Copilot Credits bought separately |
| Contact Center standalone (agents on another CRM) | $110.00 | $6,600.00 | $79,200 | No Dynamics case app |
Microsoft list price, October 2026 price list. In every option the Azure Communication Services telephony and any Copilot Studio capacity beyond the included allocation are metered and billed to the firm's own Azure and Copilot Studio accounts.
What the license price does not cover
Four lines appear on the invoice beside the per-user SKUs. Azure Communication Services for telephony: numbers, inbound and outbound minutes and SMS, metered on your Azure subscription. Copilot Studio capacity for digital messaging and for the Dynamics 365 agents, pre-purchased as Copilot Credit Commit Units or pay-as-you-go. Dataverse storage beyond the pooled entitlement. And implementation: routing design, channel setup, knowledge migration and the agent desktop, which is project work. Microsoft's subscriptions and metered charges are always your own; Dynamics 365 Administrator on Demand covers the ongoing administration at $25 per seat plus a $175 tenant fee, and a Microsoft 365 License Audit and Optimization ($1,950 per project) checks the Dynamics seats alongside the Microsoft 365 ones before a renewal, both quoted in writing before work begins.
Frequently asked questions
How much does Dynamics 365 Customer Service cost?
Professional $50.00, Enterprise $105.00 and Premium $195.00 per user per month on an annual commitment; the no-commitment monthly prices are $60.00, $126.00 and $234.00 (Microsoft list price, October 2026 price list). Attach licenses are $20.00 and the Enterprise device license is $160.00.
What is the difference between Customer Service Professional and Enterprise?
Professional carries use-rights caps from the licensing guide: up to 15 custom tables, 5 business process flows, 5 reports or dashboards and 15 queues, with routing rule sets and entitlements reserved for Enterprise. Enterprise adds unified routing with 50 record routes per user per month and has no custom table cap. The two cannot share one environment.
What does Dynamics 365 Customer Service Premium include?
Customer Service Enterprise plus Dynamics 365 Contact Center with both the Digital and Voice channel families, and 1,000 Copilot Credits per user per month per the March 2026 licensing guide. At $195.00 it costs the same as Enterprise ($105.00) plus the Contact Center add-on for Enterprise ($90.00). Telephony minutes on Azure Communication Services are priced separately.
How much is Dynamics 365 Contact Center?
$110.00 per user per month for both channel families, or $95.00 for Contact Center Digital or Contact Center Voice alone. Users who hold Customer Service Enterprise pay the add-on prices: $90.00, $75.00 and $75.00 (Microsoft list price, October 2026 price list).
Can I mix Customer Service Professional and Enterprise licenses?
Not in one environment. Microsoft's documentation states that Enterprise and Professional users cannot be mixed on the same instance, and the licensing guide requires separate environments if you buy both for the same product.
Is unified routing included in Customer Service Enterprise?
Yes. The licensing guide pairs Enterprise with 50 record routes per user per month; a unified routing add-on at $800.00 per tenant per month adds 10,000 record routes. Professional does not include unified routing.
What is the Customer Service attach license?
A $20.00 per user per month license for someone whose first Dynamics 365 app is already a qualifying base license, such as Sales Enterprise. The attach gives that person Customer Service without paying a second full base price.
