Windows Server 2022 Standard edition is ideal for those with physical or minimally virtualized environments.  Each purchase includes 16 core licenses and can be used to run 2 Operating System Environments (either virtual or physical). If your server has more than 16 cores, you'll need to buy additional licenses. You'll also need a Windows Server Client Access Licenses (CAL) for every user or device accessing the server.
