How do I find my Microsoft 365 tenant name, default domain, and tenant ID?
In the Microsoft 365 admin center, go to Settings > Domains to see your verified domains; the domain marked Default is your tenant’s default domain. Your tenant name is typically the original domain ending in .onmicrosoft.com. To find the tenant ID, open the Microsoft Entra admin center and view the tenant overview or properties; the tenant ID is a GUID and is different from both the tenant name and domain.

How do I get activation keys for Microsoft products I purchased?
Many Microsoft cloud subscriptions purchased through CSP or NCE do not use activation keys; licenses are assigned to users in the Microsoft 365 admin center. Perpetual, volume, or other software purchases may require keys or downloads from the Microsoft licensing portal referenced in your Microsoft order email. If the portal does not load, try a different browser, an InPrivate or Incognito session, or a different device, then contact IT Partner if the entitlement still is not visible.

What tenant access or admin permissions does IT Partner need for an engagement?
Required access depends on the service being delivered, the Microsoft workloads involved, and the issue being investigated. IT Partner may request tenant access, admin permissions, logs, configuration details, or other relevant information needed to complete the approved scope. The exact roles should be confirmed before work begins and should follow least-privilege access wherever practical.

Do entry-level Microsoft 365 or Office 365 plans include installed Office desktop apps?
Do not assume that cloud-first plans include installed Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, or Access for Windows or Mac. Plans such as Office 365 A1 or Office 365 G1 are commonly positioned for web and cloud productivity rather than full desktop app installation. Before ordering, confirm the exact plan benefits, especially under CSP or NCE terms where subscription changes may be subject to commitment rules.

Can users sign in to Microsoft services with existing school or work accounts?
Many Microsoft cloud services are designed to use organizational identities managed in Microsoft Entra ID, but sign-in requirements vary by product and license type. For per-user subscriptions, users generally need the correct account, tenant membership, and assigned license or entitlement. IT Partner should confirm identity, tenant, and licensing requirements before deployment.

Can Power Pages anonymous-user capacity be used for signed-in users?
No. Power Pages anonymous-user capacity is intended for unauthenticated visitors only. Users who sign in, including employees, partners, customers, or other authenticated visitors, may require separate authenticated-user capacity or another licensing approach that should be validated before purchase.

What is IT Partner’s Configure and Enable DLP Policies service?
IT Partner’s Configure and Enable DLP Policies service helps organizations plan and configure Microsoft 365 data loss prevention policies. The engagement focuses on identifying DLP requirements, documenting the approved configuration scope, implementing policies, verifying results, and closing the project with a status report. The exact configuration depends on the workloads, data types, and policy behavior agreed with the client.
Microsoft PurviewCompliance
What Microsoft 365 prerequisites are required for DLP policy configuration?
DLP configuration requires a Microsoft 365 environment with supported workloads such as Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, or Microsoft Teams. The available DLP features depend on the organization’s Microsoft licensing and compliance capabilities. IT Partner should confirm eligibility, workloads, and licensing before the engagement begins.

What deliverables are included in a DLP policy configuration engagement?
Typical deliverables include a documented statement of work or requirements summary, DLP policies configured according to the approved scope, and a project closeout report. The closeout report summarizes final status, acceptance criteria, unresolved items if any, and budget status. Additional documentation or expanded operational runbooks may require a separate scope.
Microsoft PurviewCompliance
How does IT Partner decide which DLP policies to configure?
IT Partner works with the client to identify the sensitive information, locations, users, and actions that should be governed by DLP. These requirements are documented and approved before policies are configured. Policy behavior can include auditing, user notifications, restrictions, or blocking depending on the agreed business and compliance needs.
Microsoft PurviewCompliance
What are the client’s responsibilities during a DLP engagement?
The client is responsible for providing a point of contact, coordinating internal stakeholders, supplying DLP requirements, and reviewing deliverables promptly. The client must also provide needed access and coordinate any outside vendors or infrastructure teams. Network equipment or other systems outside the Microsoft 365 configuration scope remain the client’s responsibility unless otherwise agreed.
Microsoft PurviewCompliance
Does a DLP implementation include testing and verification?
Yes. A DLP configuration engagement should include verification that policies were created and applied according to the approved requirements. Any issues found during the engagement are reviewed and addressed within the agreed scope. Final acceptance is based on the documented requirements and success criteria.
Microsoft PurviewCompliance
Will enabling DLP policies cause downtime for Microsoft 365 users?
DLP policy enablement typically does not require planned Microsoft 365 downtime. However, DLP can affect user behavior by warning, auditing, blocking, or restricting actions that match policy conditions. The expected business impact should be reviewed before enforcement settings are enabled.
Microsoft PurviewCompliance
Can Microsoft 365 DLP block confidential information from being shared?
Yes. Microsoft Purview DLP can help detect sensitive information and apply actions such as alerts, user notifications, restrictions, or blocking, depending on policy configuration and licensing. The exact behavior should be defined in advance so the organization balances compliance, security, and productivity.

Where are Microsoft 365 DLP policies configured and monitored?
Microsoft 365 DLP is generally configured and monitored through Microsoft Purview compliance experiences. Portal names and navigation can change, so the current path should be confirmed in the customer’s tenant before implementation. IT Partner can help validate the correct admin portal, permissions, and policy locations.
Microsoft PurviewCompliance
Does IT Partner manage DLP policies after the initial configuration engagement?
Ongoing DLP administration is not automatically included unless it is part of the purchased service scope. The initial engagement focuses on requirements, configuration, verification, and project closeout. If the organization needs continuous tuning, reporting, or policy management, IT Partner can scope that separately.
Microsoft PurviewSecurity
Do recipients need special software to read encrypted Microsoft 365 email?
In supported Microsoft 365 encryption scenarios, recipients can read protected messages without installing special client software. The exact recipient experience depends on the encryption method, identity used, mail client, and tenant configuration. IT Partner can validate the setup so external recipients can access encrypted messages reliably.

Can IT Partner deploy and configure Azure cloud resources?
Yes, when included in the engagement scope, IT Partner can help deploy and configure Azure resources such as virtual machines, storage, networking, and related cloud services. Work may also include access, security, monitoring, or configuration review. The specific tasks should be defined before the purchased service time begins.

Who is responsible for configuring firewalls, routers, switches, and other network equipment?
Network devices such as firewalls, routers, switches, and load balancers are typically the client’s responsibility unless the statement of work says otherwise. IT Partner may review security or network settings as part of a hardening or implementation engagement. The division of hands-on configuration work should be confirmed before the project starts.
