SharePoint Online is a cloud-based service that helps organizations share and collaborate with colleagues, partners, and customers. With SharePoint Online, you can access internal sites, documents, and other information from anywhere — at the office, at home, or from a mobile device.
Microsoft Teams is a unified communications platform that combines persistent workplace chat, video meetings, file storage (including collaboration on files), and application integration.
Before you dive into building and configuring your organization’s SharePoint Online and/or Microsoft Teams environment, there are a few things you should think about. For example, how will your organization manage and access the information? Do you plan to make special customizations or integrations with third-party apps or services or build any custom solutions? How you’d like to set up your permissions. What devices your users would be using? Etc.
We’ve divided the planning process into five manageable steps. With each step, we will help you guide your decisions and get you better acquainted with SharePoint Online (SPO).
- Set up your Teams environment.
- Set up your SharePoint Online (SPO) environment.
- Plan Teams, Channels, SPO Sites and manage users.
- Organize content and plan content features. Decide when to use Teams and when SharePoint Online.
- Customize Teams and SPO Sites with solutions & apps.
Our objective is to help you plan Microsoft Teams and SPO sites and organize content in your Office 365 environment. This project will be considered successful when we develop a document covering all five topics mentioned above.
We will start asking these useful questions:
- What types of documents do you want to store?
- What information about those documents (e.g. published date, author) should be stored?
- Do you need images or video?
- Who will be accessing the different types of content?
- Do you have more structured information, such as lists of suppliers or key marketing contacts?
Now that we understand the nature of our content and the building blocks available to us, we can start to create elements of the Information Architecture. It helps to organize and manage content and to design a solid plan for SharePoint Online. We make your information architecture logical, extensible and user-friendly.
Designate a specialist who will provide useful information about content design and structure, someone who understands all business processes inside your company
